Definitely the simplest sewing pattern I've ever seen and you’ll be saving the planet and its wildlife as well as space in the kitchen where you hide all those old placcy bags…

Actually the idea has caught on quite quickly. We are starting to make these in Swap-bot http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/5478 and Craftster.org has a contest going on for the most original of these bags. I made my first one last night and plan on making a bunch more to give in my community's www.freecycle.org since I have been donated a ton of fabric from other people who thought this was a wonderful idea.
