Soul in your Face

Soul Face is a new online surf mag from Portugal with lush photos and art. Some of the translation might give you a bit of a headache trying to follow it, but basically they're all about the soul of surfing. And there's not too much text, which is ideal for an online mag, and it's not too bandwidth heavy either. Well worth a look.

National Trust gets cool

The National Trust own half the coastline (or so it seems!) and Porthleven surf girl Robyn Davies has just got a job with them to promote surfing and the National Trust together. If that sounds a bit confusing, well, we're confused too, but rest assured we're going to get to the bottom of it! We hope to get some more info out of Robyn and will let you know all about it in the next SurfGirl.

The next issue is due out in the middle of April and we're slaving away on it now. It's going to be amazing!

The next issue is neeearly finished, once again we're just waiting on the boys! It'll hit the stands for Bank Holiday weekend. We've heard lots of reports that the SG summer special has sold out/can't be found - if you want one, ring the office and we can send one direct or point you towards a shop that'll have some.



Gearing up for the Boardmasters, we've produced some gorgeous SurfGirl stickers - it's only taken us three years to get some done, but boy, were they worth the wait. If you're at the Boardmasters go grab one from the lovely Joe and Duncan on our stall, or order anything from the shop and we'll throw one in. OR just send us an SAE. Issue 14

Yippee! The new mag is out at laaaast and it's a corker. Get out there and push your limits! Next issue in the pipeline now, to include the UK and Ireland Top 20 women (contentious, we know!), a huge travel photo feature, oh tons more. It's the first standalone issue and should be on sale July 5, so please please go out and buy it and support us! Hope you got some waves in the swell and that there are more to come in the summer sunshine. xxxxxx.

Oh my God! We've nearly finished it! And it's a beauty! We've got the best summer fashion, loads of tips and technique help for riding bigger waves, interviews, happenings, a Mentwais trip report, Morocco guide and just so much more…Again we have to finish Carve first but SG 14 will be with you at the start of June! Hard to wait, I know ;-)

AND in other news, we're doing the first stand-alone issue of SurfGirl after that, the Summer Special. We'll be busting a gut to make sure this is an amazing issue. It'll cost you £2.99 and we hope you love it and buy at least two copies! Details of what's in it will follow, but rest assured we've got some special stuff up our 3/2 sleeves!

Bedouin Soundclash

Remember Bedouin Soundclash are playing at the Walkabout in Newquay tomorrow night! If you're in the area and haven't got a ticket yet get onto it! Most of Cornwall will be going!

SurfGirl has gone to the printers and the surf's not great, but we're keeping ourselves super busy with CARVE and 360 so not much web updating going on for the next couple of days…

Saltwater Girl Surf

We just had a visit from Bryony who runs Saltwater Girl and Saltwater Girl Surf in South Africa. Goody, two new girly surf mags to read! It's great to hook up with other people in the biz and we're only sorry we didn't have more time to show her around town (not that there's much to see but tumbleweed in Newquay!)

The deadline for SurfGirl is, er, yesterday!? We're so busy we're not sure any more! But it's coming together now…and I hope you like the wetsuit guide cos it's killing me.
