Oh my God! We've nearly finished it! And it's a beauty! We've got the best summer fashion, loads of tips and technique help for riding bigger waves, interviews, happenings, a Mentwais trip report, Morocco guide and just so much more…Again we have to finish Carve first but SG 14 will be with you at the start of June! Hard to wait, I know ;-)

AND in other news, we're doing the first stand-alone issue of SurfGirl after that, the Summer Special. We'll be busting a gut to make sure this is an amazing issue. It'll cost you £2.99 and we hope you love it and buy at least two copies! Details of what's in it will follow, but rest assured we've got some special stuff up our 3/2 sleeves!

Are you a super-keen grom? Do you want to turn pro?

Here’s your chance to do just that. On May 12/13 and October 13/14 CARVE are teaming up with the English Surfing Federation Surf School to offer Youth Development Coaching Clinics at Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall.
Coaching will come from some of Britain’s top competitors and instructors and one of CARVE’s top lensmen will be on hand to shoot the action, supplying each grom with a sponsorship portfolio containing two shots to take home. Protest are sponsoring the first weekend and are offering a sponsorship deal for the most promising talent.
There will be both in-water coaching and workshops throughout the weekend. The course costs £119 and includes one surf assessment session, two videoed surf sessions, one photo shoot session, one surf fitness analysis workshop, two video analysis sessions with a top British pro and one portfolio preparation and sponsorship workshop. Each grom will leave with a sponsorship portfolio including a list of industry team managers, a biography, a lifestyle image and an action shot, as well as a well-stuffed goodie bag.
Email Rob Barber at Rob@orcasurf.co.uk for an info pack or call 01637 878074 for more details and to book.

Welcome back…

Blogger foxed me for a good while there, but eventually we're back online with the SurfGirl blog. This is a totally non-serious place for us SG staff to post up random comments, ideas, updates, news and anything else we feel like. Comments are very welcome!

So what are we up to at the moment? Well, we've done one trip to Morocco and one trip to New Zealand. So there will be lots of info and pictures on both those popular destinations. We loved them! But then anything's better than being in an office, right?!

SurfGirl 13 continues apace, and we want it to be the lucky issue! There's loads of info, pictures and stories from the UK girls who made it out to Hawaii. You'll have to wait to see what else is in it! It'll be out at the end of March.

News-wise, the Student Nationals kicks off this weekend in Newquay – always a fun weekend which briefly lifts the town out of its winter hibernation. Pray for some surf – it's been good but windy recently (crap today though).
